DEAN & DELUCA

As DEAN & DELUCA approaches its 50th anniversary, this rebranding project looks ahead to the brand’s next 50 years.
As we began exploring a new design direction, the first question we asked ourselves was not “What should we change?” but rather, “What must remain unchanged?”

Looking closely at the philosophies that DEAN & DELUCA has long valued, we found that at their heart has always been food—and the passion of the people who create it.
We call these creators “MAKERS,” and began to consider how their hands, their thoughts, and the warmth behind what they create could be carried into the space itself.

From this idea emerged the design concept:“HANDS OF MAKERS.”
Just as DEAN & DELUCA has always valued the people behind its food, we wanted the materials that shape the space to carry traces of human hands and a sense of the people who made them.

While preserving the refined materials and atmosphere that have long defined DEAN & DELUCA, we introduced elements shaped by the hands of MAKERS. Through their craftsmanship, we sought to bring a subtle warmth to the materials, creating a balance between refinement and a sense of human touch.

At first glance, the store may not appear to have changed very much.
But look a little closer, and the changes become clear.
Our intention was to introduce change without disrupting the brand value and memories that DEAN & DELUCA has built over the past 50 years—to move forward while remaining true to what has always made the brand itself.

Rather than simply making something new, we sought to create change in a way that still feels familiar.

By carrying forward the character of DEAN & DELUCA while bringing the warmth of the human hand into its refined atmosphere, we aimed to create a space that feels inviting—a place where people naturally want to stay a little longer.
